Don't Just Stop Taking Supplements!

I?€™ve noticed that some of my patients stopped taking certain supplements without me checking their body to see if that is the appropriate thing to do. Don?€™t do that! Some supplements are needed very long term, while others are recommended to address a particular situation. If you think you no longer need a certain supplement, it is best to ask me about that at the beginning of one of your regular appointments, or to schedule a short supplement check if you aren?€™t coming in regularly.

Discontinuing supplements too early can interfere with the success of your treatments and I wouldn?€™t want that to happen to you.

If you?€™re not close-by or have trouble stopping by, you can order supplements by mail, telephone, e-mail or on the website. We are happy to ship them to you.

More Reasons to Not Use Non- Stick Pans

I have recommended not using non-stick pans for years and here is another reason why.

PFOA (perfluroocatanoic acid) was labeled earlier this year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a likely carcinogen.
PFOA which is used in the manufacturing of fast-food paper containers, stain resistant fabric coating, and other products can boost liver toxicity and raise risks for liver, pancreatic and thymus cancer.

Pomegranate Juice is the New Powerhouse

USA Today had great information on Pomegranate Juice and why you should be drinking it

Heart specialist Dean Ornish says blood flow to the heart improved 17% in men and women with coronary heart disease who drank 8.5 ounces of pomegranate juice a day for three months. Blood flow decreased 18% in patients who took placebos; this was a normal progression of their heart disease.
It can lower blood pressure and help shrink plaque buildup in the neck arteries, say Israeli studies.
Tests on mice indicate it may inhibit prostate cancer and Alzheimer's-like brain plaque

Sasha Loses Her First Tooth!

My almost 6 year old daughter lost her first tooth last night. It was an exciting event in our household. She also got her very own pet on Saturday, a guinea pig named Cutie Pie. So this was a big weekend!
I hope you had a fun weekend too.

The Saturday Morning Market in Downtown St. Pete

For anyone who enjoys farmer?€™s markets the Saturday Morning Market in downtown St. Pete has grown to somewhere around 150 really neat booths and it runs from early October until late May, open from 9:00am until 2:00pm.

I am driving back and my car totally smells of hyacinths and I have chocolate covered strawberries to eat later!
